Journey to Malacca Historical City…
On the 22nd of September, my wife has planned to have our 4th honeymoon. Our first honeymoon was in Cameron Highlands in Perak. What can I say about Cameron Highland, it was great. considering it was our honeymoon. What do you expect from a newly wed at a cold place like this? Nothing much!! Just stayed in the room and come out when
On our second honeymoon we went to Sibu Island, and that was the worst honeymoon of all. The place was so dull and boring, luckily we have each other to entertain ourselves there, if you get what I mean…
The third honeymoon was at Langkawi...the place was beautiful, the beaches, the food, the people and more...and it is duty free. A shopping heaven for my wife!! And my son gets his toys, and I get all that my wife wanted me to have…If you ever planning to have a vacation, to me it will be always Langkawi Island.
The fourth honeymoon which was the yesterday, was not a honeymoon actually, the first plan was to have BBQ fish( ikan baker) in Umbai Melaka. But my wife insists to visit the city as all the restaurant was not open that time. It was 2nd of Hari Raya…all the halal food operators were having the day off. So we just went in to Malacca Historical City, and the experienced was tremendous. A lot of things have changed in Malacca since 1995. I was there on a study for cross cultural subject, during my ITM days. Last time it was great, considering my budget
But for my visit this time..I am well prepared, equipped with money, credit card and my new NIKON camera which I have bought in KL. Although it wasn’t planned, but I learn from experienced. Last time, when I was a student, I have no income. Now I have my own income and I can eat whatever I want to eat.
When we arrive at Ayer Keroh, we just drove straight to Malacca Town, and try to find a Hotel that is cheap and worthy. Although I have money, my wife has more money than me, but I am stingy. So we find a hotel, the hotel was Orkid Hotel, near Jalan Bendahara, for RM 200 per night including breakfast, other hotel which is 4 star is RM 400 per night. I am not that rich, to spend RM 400 in a night, just for sleep and having sex..hehehhehe
After check in ourselves in the hotel, we started our first visit at this place.
Then we start wandering around Malacca, snapping pictures, and sight seeing. Then we felt that we need something to eat, we started to look for food stalls or any restaurants. Then we found Mc Donald’s in front of Mahkota Parade, the we realize that there is a lot of food centers and outlet at the location. However, due to our hungriness, we stand with our decision, fast food is better. If only Malaysian food can be a fast food, serve in 5 minutes…? However, we can start to dream. When it will it ever happen...(sigh) Usually in a Malay restaurant, sometimes it takes 45 minutes to receive our order, and sometime they forget about our order, and maybe they forget about us, or the worst part is to sit at the table for 20 minutes, and wait for the waiter to take our order. Seems like we are nobody, and the most common in Malay restaurant, if everything was ok (including the foods and services), was the part when you paying the bill. Why?
For your info, please prepare your money when you paying bills in Malay restaurant. The operators don’t have small change for you. Make sure you have RM 10 at least 50 pieces, RM 5 for 10 pieces and several coins with you. Otherwise you will have to wait for another customer, and pray that the next customer in line have small money change. Anyway, still you will find a great adventure in Malacca the Historical City. The truly One Malaysia concept, where Chinese can speak fluent Malay language, Indian speak fluent hokkien language, and Portuguese speaking Malay, English, Tamil, Hokkien and Portugis, and Malay that can speak Malay, some speak Chinese also, and some can be quad lingua.
Overall it was not a daily black diary to me and my wife, quite shiny and bright, and happy moments that we share and cherish together…plus I get one pair of Body Glove trouser for RM 56.90 and 2 Body Glove T-shirt…as a token of appreciation from my wife…as I am the one who drove, for 5 hours due traffic jammed in the PLUS Highway.
Happy Hari Raya…to me hehehehehheheehheheheehehhehe….
